MAFIJET is an insecticide combining spinosad 3% and thiocyclam-hydrogenoxalate 30% in an oil dispersion formulation. It is registered in China for the control of thrips on cucumber under protected cultivation.
The formulation combines two active ingredients with different insecticidal characteristics. Spinosad is a biologically derived insecticide originating from actinomycete fermentation, while thiocyclam-hydrogenoxalate is a nereistoxin analogue insecticide. Their combination provides complementary activity against thrips.
Product Features:
Two Active Ingredients with Different Modes of Action
MAFIJET combines spinosad and thiocyclam-hydrogenoxalate, providing two different insecticidal modes of action within one formulation.
Spinosad – Biologically Derived Insecticide
Spinosad is a biologically derived insecticide originating from actinomycete fermentation. It acts on the insect nervous system, mainly through nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, and can affect target insects through both contact and ingestion.
Thiocyclam-hydrogenoxalate – Nereistoxin Analogue
Thiocyclam-hydrogenoxalate is a nereistoxin analogue insecticide. According to the registered product characteristics, it has contact, stomach, systemic and fumigant activity and also shows activity against insect eggs.
Registered for Thrips Management
MAFIJET is registered for application against thrips on cucumber grown under protected cultivation.
Application Method:
Registered Use
| Crop / Site | Target Pest | Application Rate | Application Method |
| Cucumber (protected cultivation) | Thrips | 10–20 mL/mu | Foliar spray |
| Equivalent rate | Thrips | 150–300 mL/ha | Foliar spray |
Directions for Use
Apply once at the early stage of thrips occurrence.
Use 10–20 mL of product per mu, equivalent to approximately 150–300 mL/ha.
Dilute the product with 40–50 kg of water per mu, equivalent to approximately 600–750 L of water per hectare, and spray evenly over the crop.
For cucumber under protected cultivation:
- Pre-harvest interval (PHI): 3 days
- Maximum number of applications: 1 application per crop season
Do not apply on windy days or when rainfall is expected within 1 hour after application.
Resistance Management
To support resistance management, rotate MAFIJET with insecticides having different modes of action.
Avoid repeated reliance on products with the same mode-of-action groups.
